Episode 1: Theodore Bundy

Welcome to our newest series called, Open Mic Night.  The idea was born when I was sitting in a bar with a couple friends about a block and half from my apartment in Brooklyn.  I saw a sign for an open mic that was happening the following week.  I hadn't done an open mic in years,  so I started thinking I should dive in and see what it's all about.  And after only one run at it, I can already say I love it.  I decided I wanted to do it anonymously and I also wanted to create a persona for my anonymous open mic crooner.  The persona, a sad lonely guy who writes and sings the most depressing music anyone could possibly stand.  The identity, a man born with the unfortunate luck of sharing the name of an infamous serial killer.

In our first episode, Shane Spaulding and Theodore Bundy walk over to Court & Spark in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY.   And so the story begins...

The names of the songs played were:

Blue Skies, Brighter Times, and Roses
To Be Let Down
Hard Thing To Fall

I had to edit all the performances to keep the video from running over 10 minutes, but if anyone would like me to post the full videos of each song to Youtube, let me know and I will.

Stay tuned for Episode 2.
