It’s 2012 and we’re feeling good, it’s going to be a good year and we hope to see you all in it. We are currently enjoying a couple weeks off, although I am still writing with a fury, so hopefully some good material will come from this time off the road. I actually finally finished up a couple of tunes I wrote with John Oates last year, we are both pretty happy with the result and plan on recording them at the end of the month in Charleston, SC, at The Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka Recording Studios. ![]() A huge thanks to everyone who helped us surpass our goal on Kickstarter, we are looking forward to bringing you our new record. It is looking like a March 20th release date, directly following our first trip to SXSW in Austin, TX. ![]() It is looking like 2012 will hold a few firsts for Yarn, including our first trip out to California for The Strawberry Music Festival with bands Allison Krauss & Union Station, Trampled by Turtles, and Robert Earl Keen, good company to say the least. I am also hoping to release two full length albums this year, obviously the first being in March, and I am hoping to get the next one out by November, an all acoustic record. We shall see, the pressure’s on now. Jambands.com featured us last month on their website, I was honored to do the interview, they did a great job. Check it out here: Yarn in Jambands.com ![]() I had the best time playing a solo acoustic show on December 23rd in Greensboro, NC, the plan is to make it an annual event. Enjoy some videos below: Time Burns On Abilene Wishing Well Alone On The Weekend Also, check out my newest episode of Radio Songs, this one is by far my best yet, in my opinion anyway: Radio Songs: Episode 4 - Angel, Place That Halo Yarn’s Live Show Pick of the Month I've got to say Sportsman's Tavern in Buffalo, NY was a very pleasant surprise, so here you go: Yarn Live in Buffalo, NY - November 16th, 2011 Download more live Yarn shows for free at The Live Music Archive ![]() Don't forget to pick up our newest record, Leftovers Vol. 1 featuring 10 unreleased songs from our first couple of recording sessions in Brooklyn back in 2006 & 2007. It is now available on iTunes, get it now and leave us a good review... Leftovers, Vol. 1 on iTunes ![]() JOIN THE YARMY NOW!!! It's 2011 and we need a new batch of recruits, if you are at all interested in joining our street team, officially named The Yarmy, please get in touch with our promotions wiz (also songwriting genius) Shane Spaulding at shaneaspaulding@hotmail.com. We need people to get out with Yarn flyers and posters and spread the word as much as possible. We also need people to help us sell merch at our shows. Please, WE WANT YOU! 2011 felt pretty good, but 2012 is going to feel a whole lot better, see you there... |
